ACC/COLLEGE 

Graphic Design Two and Three include a built in dual credit option through Clackamas Community College. This partnership allows students in high school the opportunity to earn transferable college credit through CCC in specific classes with aligned curriculum. All students are eligible to sign up for the credit option and will be required to enroll as a CCC student and sign up for the course by the due date given during each trimester. The tuition is $10.00 per credit and is waived for students on free and reduced lunches. Be sure to register for Graphic Design 1 if you are currently in GD2 and Graphic Design 2 if you are currently in GD3.

Tips for choosing a college:
 

Spend some time researching different programs you wish to study. Do your best to have a back up plan in case your interests change or something falls through. Contact the college or university and schedule a tour whenever possible. Understand the differences between a bachelors degree, associates degree, and certificate program. If you plan to study art or graphic design, be sure to save examples of your work for your portfoio.

Tips for Applying to college:
 

Start as early as possible. Request letters of reccomendation from teachers and community members in a respectful way. Include as much information as you can about yourself and your future plans. Also include information about what type of letter you are requesting,( general, scholarship, specific program). Give the person writing the letter a specific and reasonable deadline and be sure to kindly check back to see if the deadline will be met. Always personally contact your reccomender even on online applications.

Other options:
 

There are many other options besides college. Apprenticeships, internships, travel, work, family obligations, and many other opportunities. Check with your academic counselor or the career center to look into many of the programs and job postings available to you.
